Fathers Day Gift Ideas

Father's day is believed to have originated in Spokane, Washington in 1910. The original idea is attributed to Mrs John Bruce-Dodd. Father's day became a national celebration for the first time in 1924. Today it is celebrated on a global basis and is a day when children give presents, flowers, and cards to their Fathers to express their appreciation for having such a great dad. The idea behind Father's day is not just for paternal fathers however it is also for anyone who has acted as a father should they need not be blood related.

Fathers Day gifts do not require a lot of money, they have to be gifted from the heart. Some ideas are mentioned below:

A Father’s Day Screensaver
- If your dad likes creative screensavers, this site has about a dozen different screensavers and wallpapers specifically designed for dads. Download one and put it on his computer at home or work. He’ll love it.

Put Him on the Web
- Sign on to a free web site provider and create a web site about your dad. Include pictures, favorite dad quotes, and what you love about him. Then give him a card with the URL and watch him beam.

A Custom License Plate
- If you are lucky enough to live in a state where a front license plate is not required, you can make dad his own customized front plate. I think this is a great idea and would let everybody on the road know that you think your dad is GR8.
