Artistic Gift Wrapping Ideas

Gift wrapping, is simply the act of enclosing a gift in some sort of material and is then held closed with a ribbon and topped with a decorative bow (an ornamental knot made of ribbon). In today’s world of pomp and show, gift wrapping has been converted into an art form, of creating an impression. Besides using a wrapping paper, you can find some other packaging options and alternatives, for gift packaging and wrappings.
  • Fabric is an unusual alternative to gift paper. Most commonly velvet is being used, as it offers a sumptuous effect; organza for a romantic present; cotton fabric with cheerful or vintage patterns, or felt for a special tactile feel. A gift must be wrapped in such a way, that it must not only appeal the eyes of the receiver, but also the sense of touch as well.
  • Newspaper being cheap and easily found material, can be used to gift wrap any object for any type of occasion. It offers the best chance to create a contrasting effect, blending the cheap visual appearance of the printed paper along with the combination of expensive velvet or silk ribbons; stuck-on imitation jewels; or vintage stamps.
  • Cellophane can also be used as an option to the simple wrapping paper. It may be either clear or tinted. The best idea for wrapping a gift with cellophane is to place the gift in the middle of the cellophane piece and tie it at both ends with curling ribbon, just like a candy.
  • Cardboard boxes or shoe boxes of different sizes can also be used for creative packaging. These are really empty canvasses, which can be readily transformed into unique gift containers.
After wrapping the gift, you need to think about the accessories. You can use ribbons, flowers, confetti, tissue, stickers or even small toys can be used to visualize the wrapping. Besides sprinkling confetti onto the gifts, you can also stick confetti balls on the gifts as well. Fresh, crackling tissue paper also adds a touch of class to gifts. The only thing that must be kept in mind is that the colors of the accessories must match instead of clashing. Always keep the paper texture in mind when choosing ribbons and other accessories.

At last, after wrapping the gift, now only two things are left. Firstly, the card; while choosing the card and envelope, the choice must be made in such a way, that it goes along with the wrap, ribbons and flowers when choosing the card and envelope. You can also add a personal note, as it is more appreciated and would go a long way than any purchased card with stock wordings in it. Secondly, a tint of your perfume, so that the gift reminds the receiver of you always.
Always remember, that the overall gift wrap must reflect your personality.
